{"id":619,"date":"2023-03-16T10:58:14","date_gmt":"2023-03-16T09:58:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.romulusstudio.com\/umarts\/?post_type=programme&#038;p=619"},"modified":"2023-05-22T16:21:02","modified_gmt":"2023-05-22T14:21:02","slug":"of-nurseries-and-other-possible-forms-of-phenomenotechnical-geoengineering","status":"publish","type":"programme","link":"https:\/\/dev.romulusstudio.com\/umarts\/programme-item\/of-nurseries-and-other-possible-forms-of-phenomenotechnical-geoengineering\/","title":{"rendered":"Of nurseries, and other possible forms of phenomenotechnical geoengineering"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"umu.zoom.us\/j\/66122009265\">Join on Zoom<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Currently, geoengineering is limited to scaleless, hemispheric, technological mitigation.\u00a0During his postdoc,\u00a0Luis\u00a0Berr\u00edos-Negr\u00f3n will explore\u00a0performative, sculptural, and spatial\u00a0forms that critically challenge and\u00a0shape other possible definitions of this controversial practice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To give way to that prospectus,&nbsp;Luis&nbsp;reviews recent research and teaching work in Puerto Rico, Switzerland and Sweden,&nbsp;presenting some initial views into related&nbsp;traditional and experimental,&nbsp;individual and collective&nbsp;art and science research methodologies.&nbsp;He contrasts these regions practicing different cultural and scientific techniques for observing and remediating&nbsp;colonial\/industrial traumas and cataclysms&nbsp;on Caribbean forests, and on Alpine and Nordic riparian zones.&nbsp;Luis&nbsp;associates these materials to his continuing critical survey of the history of \u2018greenhouse\u2019 as practice-based research medium through the subset of \u2018tree nurseries\u2019.
