They are currently working ourselves on running opensource AI models locally, chaining them together to generate unexpected artworks and questioning queer and inclusive AI. Curious people with and without knowledge of electronics and AI are welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>_________________________<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>12:00-16:00 AI Thinkering Session<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>16:15 &#8211; 16:35 Presentation by Artist Researcher in Residence: Cyanne van den Houten<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outcomes residency \/ Prototypes \/ Micro Experiments<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During January\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cyannevdh.nl\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/cyannevdh.nl\">Cyanne van den Houten<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is an UmArts TAIGA Artist Researcher in Residence, developing new Art and AI micro-projects investigating Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the residency van den Houten is working on their project\u00a0<em>aleatory.agent,\u00a0<\/em>a micro-AI-project that integrates algorithmic chance into the creation of visual art through computer-controlled machines. Unlike conventional generative AI tools, the project focuses on embodiment and audience interaction, making the creative process an intuitive experience between people and generative AI systems. In 2023, curator Sarah Cook joined UmArts as the WASP-HS Guest Professor in Art and AI in partnership with Bildmuseet, Ume\u00e5 School of Architecture (UMA), and Ume\u00e5 Institute of Design (UID).<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The Art and AI working is a group is chaired by Guest Professor Sarah Cook, and includes UmArts postdocs, mentors and artists in residence who are working with AI to share their research and develop new collaborative projects. The group considers how arts research can contribute to the social and ethical discourses of AI and machine learning, working in partnership with museums and galleries, artists and curators. The programme critically interrogates the aesthetics and politics of AI, collaborating with, and challenging the algorithmic logic underpinning hardware and software development.&nbsp;We are interested in how creative encounters can allow publics to experience and engage with the ethical considerations and societal shifts that widespread use of AI will bring and feeding that back into AI development.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading -->\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Octopus Club <\/h2>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The Octopus Club is open to all.
