Flock

FLOCK invites strangers to gather, move and disperse as a temporary collective.

Inspired by the shifting behaviours of urban birds, the work unfolds through a one-hour workshop followed by a live outdoor performance. Participants move together through simple choreographic tasks — gazing, perching, darting and unfolding in response to one another and the surrounding space.

What emerges is a fleeting murmuration: a living visual poem created in real time by people who have only just met.

Part choreography, part social encounter, FLOCK explores collective instinct, public space and the quiet intimacy of moving together.

No dance experience needed. Open to all ages and abilities.

“That was so restorative, and my mum loved it. She’s never done anything like that before — she’s quite the elated woman now!”

“I liked dancing outside in front of people, and dancing with Izzy the ballet dancer. I also liked that it was all different people of all ages, not just my class at school.”
