EXPERTS is Shona Macnaughton, Bex Anson, and Isabella Zych-Watson: a loose collaboration creating chaotic performance worlds of failing authority figures, macho theatricality and emotional collapse. Drawing on bouffon, amateur dramatics and institutional satire, their work drifts through sloppy choreography, overcommitted performances and collapsing bravado, hovering somewhere between rehearsal and live feed.
Their next performance, Baby, We’re the Last Free Men, spirals through horny film-star myth-making and masculine delusion within the mania of a live chat show.
EXPERTS previously performed as part of Glasgow Women’s Library’s programme for The Participatory Clinic, created by Shona Macnaughton. Inspired by feminist and LGBTQ+ health activism archives from the 1980s, the performance drew on satirical comic strips exploring discrimination, institutional power and access to care.
For the event, the ensemble inhabited background professionals, fiscal killjoys and power-hungry managers haunting the edges of the clinics, forever threatening cuts, withholding support, or attempting to regain control of increasingly chaotic situations.

Performed to Laurie Anderson’s Only an Expert, the work explored the strange authority of people who confidently claim to have all the answers.
The trio are available for performance presentations of all kinds.
